The gloves were off between Music producer and musician Mthokozisi Khathi known as Dj Tira or Makoya Bearings and fans on Facebook amidst valentines day. DJ Tira posted a status and fans came flooding alleging that he slept with the recently popular DJ Hlo. Both the DJ’s are Durban based and run in the same circles with the line of work they both do.
DJ Hlo, real name Hlosiwe Mthalane, of Ukhozi FM Song Of The Year fame. Hlo was thrusted into fame with her song Isbani when it won SOTY despite people claiming to not knowing the song, or even voting for it. Many were baffled that other songs such as Osama and Makhadzi’s Ghanama would gain so much air time, views on YouTube, but Hlo’s song only had less than 80K views when it won.
Another fan attested to the speculation by putting it to DJ Tira he knows that he allegedly slept with DJ Hlo. He continued to add fuel to the fire by claiming that DJ Tira is also sleeping with his other recording artists, the Qwabe twins. DJ Tira did not hold back his thumbs from responding to the accusation by threatening to fight the fans.
The Qwabe twins signed to Afrotainment after being let go from their former label Gallo Records and management company, Think Entertainment, after it came to light that they had several issues with them.
Not so long ago another fan threw the first punch at DJ Tira by accusing him of paying bribes at the biggest radio station in the country, Ukhozi FM. The bribe accusation are old news and they stem from when DJ Tira has either always making it to the song of the year top list or even winning the song of the song at most. The news surrounding the bribes accusations mounted and fans called out Ukhozi FM for favoritism and being in cahoots with DJ Tira.
Makoya Bearings is very prominent in the entertainment industry in KwaZulu-Natal, and Durban specifically. Not only is he a music producer and musician but also a formidable business man and the found of the annual Durban Rocks music festival.
Another tweeps brought other receipts where DJ Tira was accused of doing the brown envelope with Ukhozi FM.
DJ Tira is not the one to shy away from getting even with fans on social media. He has his subtly way of responding and wisely he normally respond in IsiZulu.
DJ Hlo have not responded to the alleged sexual relations with DJ. Meanwhile DJ Tira is not taking the news lying down as he is up in arms telling fans he will beat up them and calling them all sorts of names.
