Pitso Mosimane takes charge of Bafana
South Africa will be intrigued to see Bafana in action under new coach Pitso Mosimane in his second stint as boss. They face Guinea in an AFCON qualifier on Saturday, 26 September at 15:00. There are some whispers online suggesting that Shandre Campbell could be deployed in a false 9 position. However, veteran and firm Pitso favourite Themba Zwane is also an option there. 21-year-old winger Campbell has made a slow start to the new Belgian Pro League season with Kortrijk in terms of direct output, scoring once in six league outings, but has impressed overall with his performances. Another exciting name to look out for is 22-year-old Olwethu Makhanya. The central defender is already a firm favourite with Glasgow Rangers supporters.
Mofokeng is the real deal after Orlando Pirates exit
Rele Mofokeng scored 10 goals and assisted eight times in 27 league outings last term for Orlando Pirates. That scintillating form earned him a big move to Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise. For Union SG, he scored the clinching penalty in a shootout win over Club Brugge in the Belgian Super Cup final in July. Mofokeng scored his first Europa League goal for his new club last Thursday in a comfortable 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen. He’s also scored three times in five league outings. Union SG have won six matches on the bounce across all competitions, with Mofokeng claiming an assist against Royal Antwerp.
