Amazulu football team has emerged as the most recent DStv premiership club, which has expressed a strong interest in Bradley Grobler, Supersport United, and lately discovered about his demanding price.

The apparent interest of Usuthu in Grobler could surprise many in the local Football Brotherhood. Amazulu has been confirmed as the second South African team to compete and strengthen in the 2021/2022 CAF Champions League.

After confirming a full range of new signatures last week, Coach Benni McCarthy has made no secret of his long term work on the continent and, in order to fight on all fronts, he must definitely balance the size of his Amazulu team with both quality and experience. Grobler is a player who would without a shadow of a doubt meet those standards.

Grobler is known to be a long-term objective at some moment for all Kaizer chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, with chiefs the last of the top three clubs in Germany having an interest in the international Bafana Bafana.

But since Grobler recently concluded a new deal with Supersport, it was expected that his services by chiefs or the other previously suggested followers finally would end with interest. Instead, it prepared the door for an ambitious new supporter in Amazulu. After the previous season as a runner they are supposed to have enquired about the services of his Grobler.

According to sources in Soccer-Laduma, Amazulu and Supersport United held a discussion about a prospective deal for Grobler. Amazulu is thought to have bulked on the prospect of paying R6 million reportedly. Although the deal is now unlikely to be revived, the fact that Amazulu was sure that a grobler-style player would sound gives a clear indication of the objectives of the Durban side before the next season.
