Banyana Banyana captain Janine Van Wyk is heading back to Europe, having signed for Greek club Ergotoris.
Van Wyk confirmed the deal on Thursday on her Twitter account.
It will be the 35-year-old’s fourth overseas club having previously played for Houston Dash in the USA, Danish club Fortuna Hjørring, and most recently Glasgow City in Scotland.

After Glasgow, Van Wyk returned to South Africa and has been turning out for her club JVW Girls in the meantime. She was captain and a member of Banyana’s WAFCON winning squad in July, however only played in one match at the competition.
“Looking forward to start this new and exciting chapter that I believe would be yet another platform for me to continue to grow to become the best version of myself,” Van Wyk said on Twitter.
“Another challenge to improve, get better and continue to strive towards greatness.”
