Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has said part of his role as a coach is to have a tea that entertains fans, and he was happy to send the fans home happy after their 1-0 win over Swallows.

Bienvenu Eva Nga scored the only goal of the win, but Pirates dominated proceedings, especially in the first half, and the scoreline could have much bigger.

When asked by iDiski Times’ Lorenz Köhler about the responsibility he has to the fans as Orlando Pirates’ coach, the empathetic Riveiro said he understands his role.

“Two things here, I’m repeating myself but it is the truth, it’s not an empty talk,” Riveiro said in reply at the post-match press conference.

“I have very, very clear the aim of my role, my profession what I do, we are part of one show. We try to entertain people.

“Football, it’s something that makes me feel very happy when I have the chance to watch my team playing. So I want the same for the people who is coming to watch the game.

“Sometimes it’s possible and sometimes it’s not. But the intention, it’s always that.

“So I try to do my best in order to make it happen, and the consequences like today that we have, I don’t know how many fans in this moment, very happy at home and probably having a good night because of the performance of the guys.”
