Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Amakhosi striker to follow Ben Youssef?

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly set to part ways with striker Tashreeq Morris ahead of the new season.

With new coach Fernando Da Cruz arriving next week, more changes are expected at the club ahead of the anticipated pre-season.

According to SABC Sport, the 32-year-old could reunite with former AmaKhosi assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef, who has since been appointed head coach of Durban City.

Morris endured a frustrating spell at Naturena following his surprise arrival from SuperSport United in January 2025.

Signed by then-head coach Nasreddine Nabi, the experienced forward struggled to establish himself, making just four appearances across all competitions.

The striker spent much of last season on the sidelines, although he did manage to get on the scoresheet towards the end of the campaign. However, with Flavio Silva emerging as Chiefs‘ first-choice striker and the club expected to reshape its attacking options, Morris has seemingly fallen down the pecking order.

His departure would continue Kaizer Chiefs’ squad overhaul ahead of the 2026/27 season. Midfielder George Matlou and winger Happy Mashiane have already left the club, with more exits expected as the Glamour Boys prepare for the new campaign.

Kaizer Chiefs could release more players

With pre-season training starting this week, several players could face the axe. The likes of Gaston Sirino, Pule Mmodi have their contracts expiring at the end of the month.

According to reports, Dillan Solomons has penned a new deal while defender Aden McCarthy has since moved to Europe.

Why did Morris fail at Chiefs?
