Good and bad news on Pitso Mosimane

Kaizer Chiefs continue to be linked with Pitso Mosimane with current co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef in the firing line.

Kaze and Youssef have been in the coaching box during what has been a nightmare for weeks – to say the least – for Amakhosi.

Meanwhile, Pitso Mosimane is available and his name continues to be bandied about.

Let’s take a look at the good news around these purported links – as well as the not so great news.

GOOD NEWS ON MOSIMANE TO CHIEFS

Kaizer Motaung recently publicly stated his respect for both Mosimane and Benni McCarthy.

“I have a lot of respect for both of those gentlemen [Mosimane and McCarthy], they have achieved a lot through their playing days, achieved as coaches, and it’s always an honour to be associated with people like that,” Motaung stated on Kick Off.

This is a positive sign for Amakhosi fans because in the past few seasons the club has been very quiet, with little to no mention of Mosimane despite the rumours linking the iconic South African coach to the club.

NOT SO GREAT NEWS AS JINGLES RUMOURS CONTINUE TO RING

First things first, Mosimane has made it clear that his backroom team goes with him.

Therefore, if Amakhosi are going to sign him, they would have to replace the full current coaching staff.

Also, Kaizer Chiefs would have to fork out good money for Mosimane and his staff.

Furthermore, Mosimane has not commented on any links or contact from Amakhosi despite being available.

So, there is no concrete evidence that he is actually linked with the club beyond the current rumours.

DO YOU THINK CHIEFS WILL EVER SIGN PITSO MOSIMANE?
