Actor Sthembiso ‘SK’ Khoza is making his return to the small screen in Umthetho, a gripping new crime drama coming to Netflix this August.
The eight-part series premieres globally on 14 August 2026, placing Khoza alongside some of South Africa’s most recognisable acting talent in a story centred on crime, family, justice and survival.

A new chapter for SK Khoza
For viewers who have followed Khoza’s career, Umthetho marks another opportunity to see the actor tackle a darker, dramatic role.
Khoza became a household name through his performances in productions including The Queen, where he played the notorious Shaka Khoza, as well as Kings of Jo’burg, The Black Door and other South African television projects. His return to a major Netflix production is likely to generate plenty of interest among fans who have missed seeing him in prominent scripted roles.
In Umthetho, Khoza is part of an ensemble cast that includes Nqobile ‘Nunu’ Khumalo, Tony Kgoroge, Sindi Dlathu, Molefi Monaisa, Given Stuurman, Lorcia Cooper-Khumalo, Ernest Msibi, Lungelo Madondo, Obed Baloyi and Mandla Gaduka.

The upcoming Netflix show Umthetho is a South African adaptation of the Brazilian crime series Brotherhood. The local version moves the story into the South African prison system, using the environment to explore power, loyalty, family and the consequences of a life.
