Cassper Nyovest not jumping on Lekompo anytime soon
South African rap star Cassper Nyovest has addressed whether he would jump on a Lekompo track, offering a candid take that has sparked conversation online.
The discussion began on X when a fan posed a straightforward question to the award-winning rapper: “Random question Cass, if a Lekompo artist were to approach you for a feature, would you consider it?”
Never one to shy away from engaging directly with supporters, Nyovest responded honestly about where he stands musically.
“I think it’s a bit tooo fast for me so I don’t know man. I would really have to love the song or feel comfortable on it. I got nun but love for Lekompo and the movement though. It’s got it’s people.”
His reply struck a balance between caution and respect.
While he didn’t completely shut the door on the idea, he made it clear that any collaboration would need to feel natural rather than forced.
Lekompo, a high-energy sound rooted in Limpopo, has rapidly grown from a regional favourite to a national phenomenon.
