Sweet Guluva addresses rumours about alleged child with Ashley Ogle

South African entertainer Sweet Guluva, whose real name is Akhonamathema Zwane, has broken his silence following social media rumours alleging that he is an absent father to Ashley Ogle’s newborn child.

In a statement released by his management team, Sweet Guluva said they had intentionally refrained from commenting on the matter until now, citing privacy and respect for what they described as a past relationship between him and Ogle.

The team maintained that communications during their relationship were private and confidential.

Addressing the paternity claims, the statement revealed that since early 2025, Sweet Guluva has privately requested that Ogle allow him to meet the child and for his family to visit her family to discuss damages in accordance with Zulu cultural practices.

According to the statement, he has expressed a desire to be involved in the child’s life.

However, the entertainer claims he has neither met nor seen the child in person, alleging that Ogle has refused his requests.

His team added that all previous attempts to resolve the matter privately have been documented and submitted to legal representatives.

The statement also referenced a circulating video in which Ogle was asked about the identity of her child’s father.

In the clip, she reportedly responds repeatedly with the word “Jwaang,” declining to directly name the father.

Some social media users interpreted this as a reference to Sweet Guluva, who used the SeSotho word “Jwaang” in a TikTok video he posted in February 2026.

Sweet Guluva’s management stressed that until he and his family are allowed to meet the child and conduct a paternity test, it would be irresponsible for him to confirm or deny being the father.

They confirmed that legal representatives have been instructed to formally request access to the child and to facilitate a paternity test to establish the truth.

The team further assured fans that Sweet Guluva is a responsible man who has never and would never run away from his responsibilities.

They emphasised that the public statement was not intended to defame or attack anyone, but rather to address growing speculation and misinformation.

Concluding the statement, management requested privacy as they work to resolve the matter confidentially with Ogle and her family, adding that no further public comments will be made at this stage.
