Kaizer Chiefs attacker Wandile Duba netted a hat-trick to help his team beat TS Galaxy 3-0 in the Carling Knockout Cup on Tuesday.

As a result, Duba joined a growing list of Amakhosi players to have scored a hat-trick in the PSL era.

On the night, Duba netted his treble in the second half after what appeared to be a very difficult first half for the Glamour Boys.

Now, 22-year-old engraved his name on the history books of the club, joining the likes of Pollen Ndlanya and the late John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu among many others.

Ndlanya netted four hat-tricks during his time with Chiefs, and overall, he netted six in the PSL era.

Current Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr netted two hat-tricks for the club, and they were against Maritzburg United and Bloemfontein Celtic.

Before Tuesday’s match, the last player to have scored a hat-trick for Amakhosi was Caleb Bimenyimana who scored his treble from the penalty spot against Stellenbosch FC in 2022.

Furthermore, retired Bafana Bafana strikers Mark Williams and Lehlohonolo Majoro scored four goals each in a single match for Chiefs.

It is also worth mentioning that legendary Marks Maponyane also scored a hat-trick in knockout match against Durban City in 1988.

According to Chiefs, the late Ace Ntsoelengoe remains the player with most hat-tricks scored (14) in the club’s history.
