Zwane on how he plans to treat Sundowns clash

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has pointed out how he plans to treat the clash against log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi are currently low in confidence, having suffered two consecutive defeats at the hands of Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership.

In their previous match against Usuthu, where they lost 4-0, Zwane believed his side played well but was punished through its own mistakes.

Meanwhile, the Brazilians have enjoyed a nine-match winning streak in all competitions and will be looking to stretch it further.

Chiefs’ gaffer has stated that they always go for a victory in all their games.

“It doesn’t matter who you play against. We treat all the games the same,” Zwane told the media at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

“Unfortunately, today [last Saturday], we lost, and if you look at the performance of the boys, it wasn’t bad. We just got punished for our own mistakes, we should learn from them.

“And going to the next game, we’ll obviously prepare for it and see how it goes. But as I said, we take one game at a time.

“We play to win every game we play.”

Bafana Ba Style and the Glamour Boys face off for the second time in the DStv Premiership this season.

The Soweto giants suffered a 4-0 defeat to Sundowns earlier in the campaign in what was a third fixture for the season.

Chiefs will be looking for their eighth league win, with Downs seeking their 15th.

Amakhosi are fourth on the log standings with 24 points after 16 games, while Sundowns are sitting at the summit after collecting 43 points in 17 points.

The match will be held at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 21 January 2023 at 20:00.
