Zambia national women’s team vice-captain Grace Chanda has moved to Spanish club Madrid FF from Kazakhstan champions BIIK Shyehtp FC.

The Spanish club confirmed on its social media accounts the signing of the 2022 Women’s AFCON Bronze medal-winning striker.

Chanda moves from The Steppes to Western Europe on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old is Madrid FF second Zambian signing for the 2022/23 season following the arrival of striker Rachel Kundananji who was omitted from the AWFCON in Morocco due to administrative reasons.

Kundananji joined Madrid FF in early August after moving there this season from rival Eibar.

Interestingly, Kundananji joined Eibar last year from BIIK.

On the move

Meanwhile, Grace Chanda had a memorable WAFCON in Morocco where she inspired Zambia to debut qualification to the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification that Australia and New Zealand will host in June 2023.

Grace Chanda scored three goals at WAFCON on Zambia’s way to their debut third place finish at the continental tournament that Morocco hosted from July 2-23.
