The gift of motherhood is often regarded as one of the most indescribable blessings for any maternal figure, and for television presenter and media mogul Basetsana Kumalo, it is no different.

The 51-year-old former pageant model has explored every aspect of parenthood, and despite the passage of time, she finds that there isn’t a day when she feels completely accustomed to it.

This week, the proud mother of three celebrated the 11th birthday of her youngest daughter, Bontle. In a heartwarming post, she expressed her deep admiration for Bontle, who has grown into a remarkable young lady, while also offering valuable motherly advice that could guide her on the journey ahead.

In her lengthy post, she reflected on her experience during pregnancy. “When I was pregnant, I never found out if I was carrying a boy or a girl, because for me, a child is such a big blessing and a gift, so I chose not to find out until the day of your birth,” she wrote.

“You have brought immense joy to our lives and our home. Watching you grow and develop into your own person is a beautiful experience. Sometimes, I find myself surprised by how much I see my mannerisms in you. I often find myself staring at you. You are my teacher in so many ways.”

As someone who has a history of achieving many of her goals, the proud mother later offered her eleven-year-old daughter some valuable advice: to continue being her authentic self and to live life to the fullest.

“My advice to you, my baby girl, is to know who you are before the world tries to tell you who to be. Train your mind to see what is possible before the world grants permission for your dreams. Guard your heart, be anchored by your faith, and use your voice to speak the truth and set boundaries. Dance to the rhythm of your own beat”.

The touching post was accompanied by a video reel showcasing some of their most treasured family memories.
