Ernest Mokuena, the agent of Lesotho international Motebang Sera, has revealed why he is yet to feature for DStv Premiership side Royal AM four games into the season.

Mokuena told FARPost that the talented midfielder was still without a work permit.

Sera rejoined Royal AM from Golden Arrows in June but is yet to make an appearance for his new club this season.

It is not yet clear when he will receive his papers, with Mokuena saying it is a situation beyond him and the club.

The player’s agent, however, said he understood his situation and continued to train well with the team.

When a player changes employers, the dynamics and conditions are different hence the delay.

“We are okay; we are just waiting for the permit. You know when you move from one team to another, the conditions are different from one employer to another; he is coping. He understands the dynamics of the situation,” he told FARPost.

“There is that delay. At most, it takes a month, but I can say he is not the only one waiting.
“There are two other players in the same situation, but he is fine. He is at home.”

“He has been welcomed with open hands. I can tell you when we were working on this transfer, three days before it was finalised, everything was prepared for him, the house, furniture etc.

“I know he is a national team player, so when we work on a deal, we consider game time, but I can assure you he is welcomed, and it is just the issue of a work permit,” he added.

Sera was part of the Bloemfontein Celtic team bought by KwaZulu Natal businesswoman Shawn Mkhize, but he was released in January to Golden Arrows.

The 27-year-old is now back with his old club on a one-year deal with an option to extend for a year.
