Their rumoured divorce sparked when Gugu Khathi showed up late at the SAMAs whilst Tira spent the better half of the night alone. However, she later showed up in the mix of things, but Mzansi was more than confused why the two didn’t show up together yet; they are a couple.

The celebrated business mogul and reality star have since weighed into the matter to clear the air on her alleged fallout with Afrotaiment boss DJ Tira. However, this fueled the rumour that the two had gone separate ways for months.

What left many puzzled was what could be the reason behind their fallout, given the fact that they have been married for 18 years. She has it that the two are still very much in love, and they are not getting a divorce.

Khathi has it that the daring rumour was fueled when she arrived late at the annual South African Music Awards (SAMAs). She revealed that it was this incident that made many convinced that there was indeed trouble in paradise.

“We are still fine, we are still happy. I don’t know where they’d get that from. Maybe it was because I was late for the SAMAs. There is nothing there. I don’t think we have issues that could be putting us in a situation where we’re even considering [divorce]. So, no. I don’t know what they thought they saw, but I bet it was because I was late at the SAMAs and someone spotted something,” she said.

Khathi made it known that she lives separately with DJ Tira, which has been their norm for years despite being married. One resides in Johannesburg and one in Durban, but she made it known that their love is still tight-knit. She let us sneak into her private life with the celebrated award-winning DJ.

“We are still very much happily in love and happily married. We’ve never stayed in the same house. I stay in Joburg, he stays in Durban and it’s always been like that. He comes to Joburg to our home where our kids are, because I work in Joburg full time … we’ve always had a home in Joburg and we’ve always had homes in Durban, so nothing has changed,” she reiterated.
