Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye’s legal problems are mounting as an arrest warrant is issued after he failed to appear in court this morning.
Maarohanye was expected to return to the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on kidnapping and intimidation charges, as well as for the unlawful discharge of a firearm, following an altercation with an e-hailing driver in Edenvale on 14 June.
The 45-year-old Uyajola 9/9 presenter allegedly accused the e-hailing driver of being in a romantic relationship with his girlfriend after she was dropped off at a residence in Edenvale
The arrest will not be activated until the matter is due back in court on 7 September, reports eNCA.
Speaking outside the court at his earlier appearance, Maarohanye denied any wrongdoing, even going as far as to suggest foul play.
“I’m shocked at the allegations. They are saying that I kidnapped my girlfriend, [who is] dating an Uber driver. I don’t know, man. I’m just complying and appearing,” he said.
