GladAfrica Championship outfit Venda Football Academy (VFA) have parted ways with the head coach, Johnny Ferreira.
The 64-year-old mentor joined the Limpopo-based side last year in July following the takeover of defunct, Cape Umoya United.
Ferreira guided VFA in their first season of the South African football second-tier and finished in the fifth position of the just-ended 2021/22 campaign.
He previously coached teams such as FC Cape Town, Uthongathi, Sekhunene United and Polokwane City. Ferreira also served as an assistant coach at Black Aces back in the 2013/14 season.
“The club thanks Ferreira for his contribution to the team and wish him well in his future endeavours,” said the club in a statement.
Almost two weeks ago, the side succumbed to a decision to release 15 players ahead of the 2022/23 season.
