Two Comrades Marathon 2022 runners have passed away

The KZN Sports Department has confirmed that there are now two deaths following Sunday’s Comrades Marathon.

Phakamile Tshiza of the Adventist Running Club collapsed at Drummond, while Hollywoodbets Athletics Club runner Mzamo collapsed while running around Pinetown, and was taken to Westville Hospital where he passed away.

KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube has extended her condolences to Mthembu’s family.

Comrades Marathon has confirmed the death of the second runner.
