Tsonga Amapiano genre takes Mzansi by storm, viral videos flood social media

Amapiano artists are working on a sub amapiano genre that sounds incredibly epic. Reinvention, the genre evolves with new artists bringing in their fresh individual flavour. When amapiano came into the scene, everyone enjoyed it, but we anticipated its demise to come soon. Amapiano is still relevant to this day, why?

Before amapiano came in and took over, gqom was the number one genre in Mzansi. Artists like Babes Wodumo, Dladla Mshunqisi and Sho Madjozi were the biggest in Mzansi. Gqom eventually became mundane as it was pretty much the same. Sure there are still artists who do gqom, but how much attention is the genre receiving?

Tsonga Amapiano

As mentioned, amapiano keeps reinventing; hence it’s always relevant amongst the people. Amapiano duo Marumba Pitch has a brand new sound called Venda amapiano. Their lyrics are in the Tsonga language, but that’s not the only twist of the genre. Tsonga amapiano sounds like the globally acclaimed Afro Beats genre from Nigeria.

With the sound so similar to afro-beats and yet still sticking to the essence of the Yanos, the sound will attract a big audience. No doubt amapiano fans in Mzansi love afro-beats as well and will jam to it.

So far, the first Tsonga amapiano song is still being recorded; what happens when it hits the people’s eardrums in Mzansi is yet to be witnessed.
