AmaZulu head coach Brandon Truter has revealed his happiness about the new acquisitions the club supremo Sandile Zungu brought in ahead of the much anticipated 2022/23 football season, which starts in less than two weeks.

Usuthu showed several players the exit door and acquired the services of top-class players who could take the team to another level.

The KZN outfit got the signatures of George Maluleka from Masandawana, Gabadinho Mhando from Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs bad boy Dumisani Zuma and talented Ethan Brooks from TS Galaxy.

“I think everybody can see that the president has done well and the club has done well in the transfer window. Some very good signings, top quality, good personalities as well. On paper, it looks like a very good team, so for us now is to find good combinations in terms of finding the right playing style and formation,” Truter told the media.

“New guys have come in, very competitive, quality players and its winners, so we on the right track. We got the Premier’s Cup to look forward to the league’s kickoff.”

“They [new signings] are doing very well, absolutely no problems Gaba [Mhango] is smiling at training even [Dumisani] Zuma as well, Zuma picked up a knock, but all of them are doing very well. We have a good quality squad that can compete in the first game and hopefully win the first game. Hopefully, come up with a strategy that will suit all the players.”

The former Swallows boss further revealed that the club might add one or two players to bolster their squad. However, he didn’t reveal any further details.

“Anything is possible. We’ll see, especially after this weekend. We still have one or two new faces in training as well. I don’t want to let anything out of the bag now. We might not be done in the transfer window yet,” Truter concluded.

Usuthu are still busy with their preseason preparations. On Saturday, they shift their focus to KZN Premier’s Cup, where they will battle with the province’s other teams like Golden Arrows, Royal AM, Uthongathi FC, Maritzburg United and Richards Bay.
