Tributes pour in for late Maskandi star Scebi “InkosiyamaGcokama” Dlamini as regional leadership and artists support grieving family
Tributes and support continue to flood the home of the late Maskandi musician, Scebi “InkosiyamaGcokama” Dlamini, following his tragic passing.
The leadership of the uMzinyathi District Municipality recently visited the Dlamini family at their home in emaChunwini, Msinga, to convey their deepest condolences. Municipal officials expressed that the region has lost a monumental talent who put the local community on the map through his artistry. In support of the funeral preparations, the municipality announced the donation of a cow and stated that leadership will convene further to discuss additional ways to assist the grieving family during this difficult time.
The Maskandi music fraternity has also rallied behind the family. Fellow Maskandi stars Khuzani and Ntencane, who were reportedly present during the tragic incident, visited the homestead to pay their respects. They were accompanied by prominent businessman Vezokuhle Nala of aMathole Funerals.
Their visit follows an earlier gesture by fellow musician Mjolisi, who visited the Dlamini family to express his grief and donated two cows and sheep to assist with the upcoming funeral arrangements.
Funeral arrangements are currently underway as the community and the music industry mourn the loss of a rising cultural icon. Dlamini is expected to be laid to rest on Saturday in his homestead in Msinga, KwaZulu-Natal.
