Meanwhile, the man who the tiger mauled recalled the horrific moment the animal attacked him near his home in Walkerville Johannesburg.

The tiger, named Sheba, was located and euthanised early on Wednesday morning.

Confusion: Did THE Rassie Erasmus own Sheba the tiger?

SA Rugby director of rugby Rassie Erasmus is topping the trends’ list on South African Twitter – and it has absolutely nothing to do with sport this time. It was learned that Sheba, the tiger that had escaped from an enclosure in Walkerville, Johanesburg, had been captured just days after it went missing. But those who have been following the story were shocked to learn that a Rassie Erasmus was the actual owner of the wild cat.

BREAKING: Search for missing tiger ends on sad note

The search for the eight-year-old female tiger that escaped from its enclosure on a smallholding south of Johannesburg last Saturday evening, is over.

And it’s ended on a SAD note.

The tiger, named Sheba, was located and euthanised early on Wednesday morning.

WATCH: Man recalls the HORRIFIC moment the tiger attacked and mauled him

The man who a tiger recently mauled recalled the horrific moment the animal attacked him near his home in Walkerville Johannesburg.

Sheba, the tiger, was found and was subsequently euthanised.

Searches had been underway for the tiger, nicknamed Sheba, with as many as 30 people looking for the wild cat. Walkerville residents had been warned to be on high alert after the tiger escaped from a plot in the area on Saturday.

LOOK: Several learners injured after truck ploughs into a classroom

At least 15 learners were injured when a truck ploughed into a classroom in Cosmo City, Johannesburg, in Gauteng. 

The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday, 18 January. 

According to emergency service, Emer-G-Med, they responded to a school in the Cosmo City area of Johannesburg just before 11:00.

A report by BusinessTech stated the chairperson of the quality assurance body Umalusi, Yunus Ballim, held a media briefing on Monday, 16 January, where he said that the results had been given the green light after being administered by the Department of Basic Education and the Independent Examinations Board.
