Racing Louisville FC head coach Kim Björkegren has heaped praise on Banyana Banyana star Thembi Kgatlana after securing her from Atletico de Madrid.

Kgatlana was announced yesterday as the new signing of NWSL side Racing Louisville from Atletico on a two-year deal that includes a one-year extension. This is the fourth side that the former University Of Western Cape will be joining abroad ever since she left the country in 2018.

The head coach NWSL side praised the 26-year-old signing mentioning that it is something they have been looking for and it is what they’ve been wanting.

“I think she will add something that we miss a little bit in this team, her first touch is really good and she’s good, one versus one in the attack she can dribble she can shot and she can score,” he told the club’s official website.

“She’s brave when she plays if she has a chance to go one against the defender she will take that chance that’s something we a little bit missing in this team. She will add that to the team also I know her a little bit I know that she’s a good girl that comes in and she’s gonna work hard for the team and the team makes it and that’s what we want right now.”

Louisville is sitting eighth on the log standings with ten points after ten games. The 2018 Women’s African Footballer of the Year is expected to join her new side right after the Woman’s African Cup Of Nations that is ongoing in Morocco.
