Ayeye is a Mzansi Magic series that won viewers’ hearts with its edgy, funny and sometimes shocking content.

The series focuses on young me and women going through life in the busy and tricky city of Joburg.
Ayeye takes us through the ups and downs that young people face in relationships, the pressure of making money, family and betrayal.

The first season introduced us to three young Neo played by SK Khoza, Jacaranda and Lebo. The guys share a loft in Maboneng, a hip area in Joburg where you find artists, entertainers, and cool hangout spots.

These three guys share a loft in this area, and from the first shot, one could see that life is about parties, girls and booze.

They live together, work together and hunt together.

Ayeye drew viewers because it was cutting edge, and a little naughty, perfectly depicting a young person’s life in the big city.

The second season has had so many false alarms since 2015; now, in 2022, we are on!

Phil Mphela released the news of the show and some exciting new cast members. Tebogo Thobejane if Muvhango and Charles Phasha, who played Jerry on Isibaya, will be bringing us the story this time.

Another attractive cast member is Luthando Mthembu, also known as BU from BBM 2022.

The setting is moving from Maboneng to a suburb in Bryanston in Jozi. Ayeye will have an all-female lead cast, and Rosemary Zimu is also named on this project.

Zimu will play a stay-at-home mom who becomes an adult content Creator named Zoleka. Zoleka is a wealthy 30-year-old who has lost her husband. The husband’s family take everything from her, and now she has to find ways to keep herself and her kids above water.

Ayeye has been turned into an anthology show, meaning it tells stories of new characters each season but within the same universe.

Shirley Adonisi, Director of local entertainment at Mnet, said

“It’s important that we keep up with what’s happening in the world around us and reflect that on our screens.”

Ayeye stripped will tackle serious issues of in-laws and adult content; it’s a matter of life and death as this young mother fights for survival.

Ayeye stripped will premier on our screens on August 5th Mzansi Magic at 20h00.
