Bad Bunny delivered a powerful and detailed performance at the NFL Super Bowl on Sunday, February 8th.

The performance honoured his heritage and people, promising more greatness from the pop star in the future.

The NFL announced last September that Bad Bunny would perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. There was an immediate expectation for him to deliver an exceptional performance.

Indeed, the Puerto Rican superstar made sure to turn the world into his own “Casita” with a triumphant halftime performance filled with different Latino artists, all showcasing the cultural importance of Latino people. He called for unity without hiding from confrontation.

The star has been on a winning streak in just about every way possible, including winning at the Grammys last Sunday, the 1st of February. His gig on the world’s biggest stage came at a time when it really couldn’t do anything but further confirm his status as one of the world’s most globally dominating and beloved superstars.

The performance showcased spectacular fashion with a combination of meticulous design, brilliant creative instincts and universal messaging, tied together with a singular voice and his cool hit songs.

The set visuals were explicitly Puerto Rican from the start, with Bad Bunny beginning the performance walking through a tall sugar cane field, rapping amidst men playing dominoes, women doing their nails and vendors selling tacos.

Undoubtedly, he provided a truly Puerto Rican-inspired performance right at the centre of the biggest NFL stage.
