‘The Masked Singer South Africa’ Season 3 epic finale recap

The season finale of The Masked Singer South Africa season 3 was an epic night that sent off some of the country’s favourite contestants. The episode was filled with unexpected reveals, the crowning of the winner, and the detective who won the Golden Ear Trophy.

Spotty for the win

The last episode aired on Saturday, 26 September 2026, crowning Spotty as the winner. The adorable mascot was also unmasked as the iconic singer, dancer and performer Bontle Modiselle. Her win came after a close battle with Mosquito, where they both performed Black Coffee and David Guetta hit track Drive.

Modiselle joins an iconic line-up of winners in the show’s history. She now stands beside season 1 winner Holley Rey and season 2 winner Warren Masemola.

Who was under the masks?

The rest of the contestants were also unmasked, and the faces underneath were nothing less than legendary and unexpected. The runner-up Mosquito was unmasked as musician and choreographer Robot Boii, dance partner and friend of Modiselle. The panel of detectives threw in a few guesses, with Somizi being the one to guess correctly.

Chopsticks was also unmasked. The panel of judges also shared a few reasonable guesses, with J Something locking in Nandi Madida. Khanyi Mbau was revealed as the woman under the mask, with Somizi guessing the actress correctly.

Gogga was finally revealed as singer Judith Sephuma. She was initially identified by J Something and Somizi, with Sithelo and Skhumba missing the mark, as Sithelo guessed Nomzamo Mbatha.

The ‘Golden Ear’ detective

The star detective, Somizi, bagged the Golden Ear Detective title after correctly guessing the identity of the masked contestants. This is his second time winning the title following his tied win with Sithelo in the second season of the show.
