Kaitano Tembo believes the growing number of Sekhukhune United internationals is good for both players and the club.
This comes after Nyiko Mobbie, Toaster Nsabatha, Rodrick Kabwe and Badra Ali Sangare’s national team call-ups.
The quartet received national team call-ups for Bafana Bafana, Zambia and Ivory Coast respectively.
TEMBO’s WORDS
“Look, Nyiko Mobbie has been performing well for the team. Congratulations to him for being selected for Bafana Bafana,” the ex-SuperSport United mentor told Babina Noko’s media department
“It is always great to have players who represent national teams because it leaves other players to work hard and play well in order to get national call-ups.
“Also congratulations to Toaster, Kabwe and Sangare who also received national team call-ups for their respective countries.
“It is a very good thing for the club as well as well in terms of our profiles so we wish them all the best.”
Meanwhile, the Limpopo club has been struggling to get positive results which have left the coach attributing his men’s failure to get fruitful results at home to “bad luck”.
Sekhukhune has collected seven points since the commencement of the new campaign, having won one game, drew four and lost three in the process. They find themselves languishing at the bottom of the log standings [15th place].
In his post-match interview against Stellenbosch, Tembo stated that the FIFA Calendar break will be helpful to his side in order to address some of the issues within the club that affect their performance and give the players time to rest.
“Look, probably this is a time we might need to freshen the team as well in terms of giving the players more time to rest because you must understand that the travelling as well takes its toll on the players,” he told journalists in Polokwane.
Sekhukhune will play their next league game against the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates on Tuesday, 4 October at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The kick-off will be at 17:00 in the evening.
