Mamelodi Sundowns reserves coach Surprise Moriri has called upon his charges to bring the same attitude they displayed against Orlando Pirates when they take on another Soweto giant Kaizer Chiefs this Saturday in the DStv Diski Shield semi finals.

He admits that it’s going to be a tricky encounter yet an open one as both teams play attacking football.

Masandawana defeated the Buccaneers 2-1 on Sunday to set a date with the Mighty Amakhosi who defeated SuperSport United in a six-goal thriller winning 4-2.

“I think the boys came to the party [against Orlando Pirates] we did the job and we in the semi finals. Everyone is happy, the boys are happy, but we know we still have to do our best to make sure we qualify for the final,” said Moriri.

“On Saturday we playing Kaizer Chiefs, the semi final of the Shield Cup, very interesting game that is going to be. Always our games against Kaizer Chiefs are interesting, we know that it’s a team that is forward orientated, willing to play good football.”

“The preparations are going on very well, we looking forward to a very good game. I’m anticipating a very open game and the boys know that for us to give ourselves a chance to be in the final we have to make sure first we play very well and make sure we compete.”

The former Masandawana talisman singled out his skipper Cassius Mailula for praise after netting a brace that took the team to the last four.

“Cassius had a good game on Saturday scoring two goals, he really worked hard, made sure he led from the front and also encourage the boys. He’s one player that is reliable in front, he’s working hard to make sure he keeps the team together. It was a good call from us to give him the armband,” Moriri concluded

Earlier in the first semi final, Chippa United take on DStv Diski Challenge champions Stellenbosch FC at 10:00, followed by the mouthwatering Amakhosi and Masandawana showdown at 12:30. Both matches will be played at the Giant Stadium. Entrance is free.
