SuperSport sign Ronwen Williams replacement

As earlier reported by FARPost, SuperSport United have moved quickly to replace former captain Ronwen Williams who recently joined DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Williams, who is also the Bafana Bafana number one, moved to Masandawana on a five-year deal.

This is after spending more than 18-years at United from the age of 12.

The club has now confirmed his replacement with the signing of former Bidvest Wits keeper Ricardo Goss from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 28-year-old signed a two-year-loan deal. He reunites with Matsatsantsa head coach Gavin Hunt after spending two seasons together at Wits before joining Sundowns.

“We are very happy to welcome Ricardo to the club for the next two seasons. Our Head Coach Gavin Hunt has worked with Ricardo extensively and rates him very highly.

“We look forward to him contributing to success on the field for us and for him to then be challenging for a place in Bafana Bafana again,” club CEO Stan Matthews said about the new acquisition.

New signing Ricardo Goss said he was excited about the move. “I am very excited to join SuperSport United and I have been welcomed warmly by the boys. There are familiar faces in the camp, which made it easier for me to settle in the team. To the Matsatsantsa supporters, I am looking forward to interact with you and together we can try and win some silverware.”
