Mamelodi Sundowns have come to an agreement with defender Rushine De Reuck on a new three-year deal.
De Reuck, 27, joined Sundowns in 2021 as the PSL Defender of the Season after an incredible campaign at Maritzburg United that earned him a place in Bafana Bafana for the COSAFA Cup, AFCON and FIFA World Cup qualifiers under head coach Hugo Broos.
He became an integral part of the Sundowns defence over his first season and a half but of late a couple of injuries have seen him in and out of the squad towards the latter end of the 2022/23 campaign.
iDiski Times understands that talks have been ongoing since last year and with the South Africa international widely considered one of the best defenders in the country, management made it a priority to tie him down seeing him as an integral member of the squad.
Sources within Masandawana confirmed that De Reuck will continue at the club and he will form an important part of Rulani Mokwena’s defence next season after overcoming the recent injury problems that saw him in and out of the squad.
This website reached out to his representatives at SSG who confirmed that an agreement had been found on a new deal and the player has now committed his future to the club, he is looking forward to the new season, winning trophies and hopefully returning to the Bafana squad.
He’s won three league titles, the Nedbank Cup and MTN8 since his arrival at the Tshwane giants.
