Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies have found out which sides they will face at the COSAFA qualifiers for this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League.

The COSAFA finals will be held in Durban from 7 to 13 August, when the champion clubs from around the COSAFA region will converge for the second staging of the championship after a hugely successful inaugural event in 2021.

The winners in Durban will advance to the 2022 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League finals that are to be held in Morocco later in the year, and where local side AS FAR await as hosts.

Sundowns are again the favourites to defend their COSAFA title, with the six teams being split in two group of three and the group winners playing it out in the final.

Similar to Downs, Double Action Ladies from Botswana and Green Buffaloes of Zambia, who both lost out in the 2021 semi-finals, have returned to the competition for a second year running.

In addition, there are three new teams, namely Young Buffaloes from Eswatini, Costa do Sol from Mozambique and Comoros representatives Olympic de Moroni. Last year’s runners-up Black Rhinos Queens from Harare were not allowed to compete again due to the suspension of the Zimbabwe Football Association by FIFA.

You can find both groups of the COSAFA finals below:

Group A: Sundowns Ladies, Costa do Sol, Double Action Ladies

Group B: Green Buffaloes, Young Buffaloes, Olympique De Moroni
