Sundowns midfielder Bathusi Aubaas is in the Bafana Bafana squad to face Guinea and Eritrea in upcoming AFCON qualifiers. Some fans aren’t too amused.
Sundowns star Aubaas picked again for Bafana Bafana
31-year-old Bathusi Aubaas has made three Betway Premiership appearances this term with one assist. The last time he made double figures for league appearances was his 14 outings in the 2024-25 campaign. However, across that and the following season, he failed to score or assist a single goal. Several fans online believe he’s lucky to be part of the latest Bafana setup.
Pitso takes charge of Bafana against Guinea
South Africa will be intrigued to see Bafana in action under new coach Pitso Mosimane. They face Guinea in an AFCON qualifier on Saturday, 26 September at 18:00. Maboe will be desperate to prove his fitness for this one, but faces a race against time to do so.

Ex-Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng with another magical moment
Spectacular form in the 2025-26 campaign earned Rele Mofokeng a move to Belgian Pro League side Union Saint-Gilloise. He followed Mohau Nkota and Mbekezeli Mbokazi out of the club, although Nkota has returned on loan. Mofokeng scored 10 goals and provided eight assists in 27 Betway Premiership matches last season. For Union SG, he scored the clinching penalty in a shootout win over Club Brugge in the Belgian Super Cup final. Mofokeng scored his first Europa League goal for his new club last Thursday in a comfortable 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen. He’s also scored three times in five league outings. Union SG have won six matches on the bounce across all competitions, with Mofokeng claiming an assist on Sunday against Royal Antwerp.
