Abubeker Nassir is seemingly closing in on another Golden Boot award in the Betking Ethiopia Premier League with Ethiopian Coffee.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a record-breaking season in the Ethiopian BetKing Premier League last season, scoring 29 goals in 23 league outings and starred in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations before Sundowns invited him for an assessment in January.
Despite not reaching the highs of the 2020/21 campaign, Nassir has scored nine goals for his side who are in sixth place and 16 points behind league leaders Saint George SC.
He netted a brace this weekend in the 2-1 win over Dire Dawa City to move one goal off the leading scorers Ismail Oro Agoro (Saint George) and Richmond Adongo (Addis Ababa City) in the Ethiopian top flight.
Nassir is expected to join Sundowns at the end of the season after impressing the technical team during his trial period.
