‘Sterling’s future at Man City to be decided by club’ | Breaking News

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola says the club will take any decision over Raheem Sterling’s future.

Guardiola was full of praise for the England International. He scored a hat-trick in Man City’s 4-0 Premier League win at Norwich City on Saturday, insisting that Sterling has been ‘outstanding’ for the club this season.

The 27-year-old is Man City’s top scorer this season with 10 league goals, and his contract is set to expire in June 2023.

Sterling did admit in October that he would be willing to part ways with Man City to join a different club.

“I have known Raheem for six seasons. I know him perfectly well. This season he was outstanding in goals and assists and his contribution to the team,” said Guardiola.

“If we count the amount games he played since we are together, it is a lot. He was a key player. In the future? I don’t know what will happen. The club decides.

“When the club extends contacts, I give my opinion, but the club takes the decision, always,” added the Man City coach.
