Stellenbosch Football Club have secured the services of a highly-rated teenager who will form part of their DStv Diski Challenge squad.
Stellies are bulking up their Diski team after the promotion of a number of players from their academy in conjunction with the release of a couple of first-team players too.
Ethan Felix, 18, is a midfielder from FN Rangers St. Agnes who competed in the ABC Motsepe League Western Cape region.
“We scouted Ethan in the past Motsepe League, as an 18-year-old, who plays with maturity beyond his years and is easily the best midfielder in the Motsepe League in the Western Cape, ” Grant Nieuwenhuys of GN Sports Agency told iDiski Times.
“We wish him well, there were no less than three clubs interested in him but Stellenbosch was the best fit for him and he also wanted to go there to further his development. We are excited and Stellenbosch is excited to have him, having done a proper scouting report on him.
“So let his development continue and we won’t be putting any pressure on him because he first needs to adjust as he was an amateur footballer just a month ago. The real work starts tomorrow basically. As his management company, we are extremely happy for him and his family as well.”

Felix who originally came through the Silver Spurs system in Athlone, Cape Town, is described by his former coach Arreshaat Daniels at Rangers, as an extremely intelligent footballer that is comfortable on the ball and a good passer over a variety of distances.
To complement this he has a huge work rate, is deadly on free kicks and always willing to put in an extra shift during games as well as training.
