Stellenbosch FC and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting XIs for Sunday’s DStv Premiership clash at the Dance Craven Stadium.
The home side enter the game on the back of four successive wins – three in the league and one in the Nedbank Cup, scoring 10 goals in those four matches.
Sundowns, meanwhile, turn their focus on the league for the first time since beating Orlando Pirates 1-0 on 4 February, having picked up two wins and one draw in the CAF Champions League, as well as a 3-1 win over Marumo Gallants in the Nedbank Cup since.
The have won a record 15 successive matches in the league and are edging closer to lift their sixth successive title.
Masandawana are also still unbeaten since Rulani Mokwena took over as head coach in October and will be keen to keep their record runs alive, despite a bit of noise during the week that certain players arrived under the influence of alcohol.
Earlier in the campaign Sundowns beat Stellies 3-0 at Loftus Versfeld thanks to goals by Neo Maema, Peter Shalulile and Marcello Allende, while Steve Barker’s side picked up a famous 3-0 win in their last clash of 2021/22.
However, that was Stellies only win over the Masandawana, who picked up six victories in eight clashes since Stellies’ promotion.
