Motsepe Foundation side Cape Town Spurs have continued to strengthen ahead of the 2022/2023 campaign, signing two more players, and promoting one player from their youth department.

Shaun Bartlett’s team have already roped in players like Clayton Daniels, Michael Morton, Therlo Moosa, Boitumelo Radiopane (on loan from Orlando Pirates), Jayden Petersen and Maurice Finck.

Radiopane is currently in the Cosafa Cup squad Bafana Bafana squad, alongside new Spurs’ teammates Lincoln Vyver and Chumani Butsaka. All three were involved as Bafana beat Madagascar 2-1 earlier today, with Butsaka scoring on debut.

This week the club confirmed that promising talent Faiz Abrahams had been promoted from the youth ranks, while also adding Mbulelo Alucius Wagaba and Sithembiso Ngobe to their ranks.

Wagaba was at Platinum City Rovers this past season, but has also played for TS Sporting and Polokwane City.

The 26-year-old Ngobe is a well-travelled defender, having had a stint in Sweden as a youngster before playing for Free State Stars, Chippa United, TS Galaxy and most recently TS Sporting.

Spurs are now the only Western Cape side playing in South Africa’s second tier after Cape Town All Stars’ decision to relocate to Gauteng and to re-brand as All Stars FC.
