MultiChoice continues to enrich lives as Diski Challenge graduates are selected for the Premier Soccer League.
The DStv Diski Challenge sponsors are delighted to see more players stepping up to senior football after breaking the ice in the u21 competition.
The Diski Challenge is now in its eighth year of existence since being introduced by the Premier Soccer League in 2014.
Since it’s inception, the competition has been successfully producing footballers ready for first team action
Just this season a number of Diski challenge stars from last campaign have graduated into club’s first teams including Oshwin Andries (Stellenbosch FC), Cassius Mailula (Mamelodi Sundowns), Olwethu Makhanya (Stellenbosch FC), Aphelele Teto (TS Galaxy) and Antonio Van Wyk (Stellenbosch FC).
Makhanya played for Marumo Gallants DDC side before being snapped up by Stellenbosch FC.
“We are proud of the role we play in empowering the sporting industry through our investments, skills development and empowerment initiatives,” says Collen Dlamini, Group Executive for Corporate Affairs at MultiChoice.
“This is a big win for us as MultiChoice and we cannot wait to see these five phenomenal graduates dominate on the field.
He added: “We are proud to see an increasing number of young players progressing from Diski to the DSTV Premiership, but it’s even more exciting to see them excel at that level and make their mark in South African football.”
