Sorisha Naidoo calls season 5 reunion bittersweet

Sorisha Naidoo has made history on The Real Housewives of Durban. She is now the only Housewife to appear at every single reunion since the show launched in 2021.

With her fifth consecutive appearance, Sorisha stands alone at the top, after Nonku Williams missed this year’s Season 5 reunion.

SORISHA NAIDOO AND ‘THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF DURBAN

“It’s a bittersweet moment for me,” Sorisha admits. “Nonku always jokes that she’s ‘Miss International’ and that she’ll be here for many more seasons.

I really felt like she should have been here. We’ve been together from the very beginning, and I feel like she needed to be here for this one.”

The Real Housewives of Durban is Africa’s longest-running Housewives franchise. Both Sorisha and Nonku have been the backbone of the show since day one.

SORISHA NAIDOO’S RECORD

But with Nonku’s absence this year, Sorisha now holds the solo record for the most consecutive reunion appearances in Africa, according to Times Live.

Sorisha Naidoo has seen the show change dramatically over the years. “The show has taken so many twists and turns.

I’ve had the chance to see so many different sides of myself,” she reflects. “Every cast dynamic brings out something different. That’s what guides your experience and shapes how you respond.”

She’s honest about her own journey too. “There was a time when I was very isolated and quite cliquey, and I couldn’t pull myself out of that space.

MOVING FORWARD

Looking back, I don’t like how I reacted or how I boxed myself in. That wasn’t the best version of me, and it’s something I had to take accountability for. I’ve grown a lot since then.”

Many fans see Sorisha Naidoo as the anchor of the show. She hopes to see more positivity moving forward.

“I’d love to see women who come in with a positive mindset, ladies who are hungry to do more and show different dimensions of themselves.

This season had some great energy and great women, but I really wish we had more fun together. More wholesome, joyful moments. That’s what I’d love to see more of.”

FAVOURITE CAST MEMBERS

There’s a running joke that Sorisha secretly runs the show. She laughs this off. “First of all, I do not run the show! I’m just a cast member like everyone else.

Those comments always crack me up; they’re so ridiculous.” But if she had to make a cut? “I’d say Minnie. I just don’t think she was the best fit for this group at this time. That’s just me being honest.”

If she could bring back any former Housewives, Sorisha Naidoo is clear. “Definitely Londie, and I’d want her back full-time. And of course, my girls Annie and Slee. Those are my top picks.”

The upcoming reunion will be different, as Nonku’s absence will be felt. “People have to watch this reunion. It’s going to be different without Nonku.

THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF DURBAN REUNION

The dynamics shift when one of the OGs isn’t there, and people will feel that. But trust me, there’s still so much to unpack.

A lot is going to be revealed, things that will make previous episodes make a lot more sense. So if you want clarity, closure, and good entertainment, this is a reunion you don’t want to miss.”

The Real Housewives of Durban Season 5 reunion airs on Fridays, 4 July and 11 July.
