TS Galaxy midfield maestro Sibusiso Vilakazi has called upon his teammates to have a hardworking spirit when they face Orlando Pirates on Sunday in the DStv Premiership to come out victorious.
Vilakazi and company will be aiming to make it two-in-two over the Soweto giants. Towards the end of last season, the Mpumalanga outfit stunned Pirates 1-0 at Orlando Stadium.
However, Vilakazi is aware of the threat posed by their opponents. He therefore, admitted it’s going to be a tough match, worst part they are playing away from home.
“We must have that hardworking spirit as a team, that will take us through on the day. We are facing Orlando Pirates and we are coming from a loss; we need to be better to get a positive result,” Vilakazi told the club’s media department.
“We’ll try to redeem ourselves; approaching Orlando Pirates is not going to be easy; we are playing away, and they will be home. It will be interesting to see how much we can go, but it’s a good task to take on.
“We’re playing at half past five, the attendance at Orlando Stadium happens to be always beautiful, we’ll try to use that on our side. We’ll want to enjoy that atmosphere, but most importantly you want to be competing and try to get a positive result.”
The former Sundowns star further reflected on the club’s good start this season. The Rockets have only lost one match and conceded one goal so far.
“It’s a start that doesn’t have too much noise. It’s fine with us because it’s important to look at ourselves and our targets. We aiming to start winning games and try to turn on that key to be consistent in terms of winning games, trying to compete in those games and be a better team,” Vilakazi added.
Both teams will be gunning for maximum points after suffering defeats to Cape Town City and Maritzburg United respectively. Kickoff at Orlando Stadium is at 17:30.
