Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile has revelled in his latest recognition which has seen him claim back to back PSL Footballer of the Season awards.

The Namibia hitman scored 30 goals in all competitions in the 2021/22 campaign which saw Sundowns win the MTN8, the DStv Premiership, reach the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League and lift the Nedbank Cup in dramatic fashion on Saturday evening in Rustenburg.

With the DStv Premiership Coaches and Players voting for the honours he received with the PSL Footballer of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season respectively along with a third consecutive Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award, the Sundowns star is likely to go down as one of the league’s finest-ever strikers,

“First of all I’d like to thank my teammates, God, my family members for this award and the coaches who voted for me to receive this,” Shalulile said on SuperSport TV.

“It’s not been an easy season, you guys saw what we did and what we went through, we were playing Champions League, came back, played in the league but we stayed, had the fighting spirit and hunger to finish the league the way we started. I’d like to thank you so much, and see you guys next season.”
