Sekhukhune Launch PSL Complaint Over Failed Signing

Sekhukune United have lodged a complaint to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila over their failed deadline-day signing.

Tumi Ngwepe was at the PSL offices on deadline day with club representatives but left without being registered after ‘paperwork’ was said to be outstanding to complete the process for Babina Noko.

The 27-year-old was one of the standout players in the 2021/22 Nedbank Cup for TTM as they reached the semi-final of the competition as has been touted to make a move to the top-flight.

However, the former Jomo Cosmos players has been left in limbo and Sekhukhune has since taken action against TTM over the transfer saga, which was confirmed by the league’s prosecutor Zola Majavu on Friday afternoon.

“I can confirm that Sekhukhune United Football Club has lodged a complaint against TTM which is Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila Football Club with reference to a player Mr Daniel Ngwepe on the basis that the respondent had failed to notify the league of the termination of their contract as contemplated in the rules of the league,” Majavu said in an official statement.

“The said complaint in accordance with the rules will be prosecuted by Sekhukhune United Football Club. The matter has been enrolled for hearing on the 27th of October 2022 at 18h00. Once the matter has been finalised before the PSL DC. I will provide you with the outcome update.”

Ngwepe is still training with the DStv Premiership side as he looks to keep fit amid the board room issues that’s prevented his switch to the elite level of South African football.
