Sam Ntuli Mall looted during 2021 July unrest reopens

The Sam Ntuli Mall in Katlehong is open for business.

It was attacked by looters during the July riots last year.

Centre management says it took a lot of hard work to return to operation and that work is not over yet, a year later.

General manager for Sam Ntuli Lerato Makama said: “It took us 22 days before we could start trading again.

“We used all the people who work for the mall to assist in cleaning. Then we started trading in the big stores. The small shops weren’t able to get back on their feet, so we’re trying to assist them to trade again and be as normal as possible.”
