Thami Mngqolo (Zeke Elakhhe Lungelo Mngqolo) is a South African actor, presenter, and director best known for his role as Senzo Dhlomo in SABC 1’s popular drama Generations (Now Generations: The Legacy).
Thami was born on September 9, 1982, in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he currently resides.
Thami debuted on Generations in 2003/04 as Senzo Dhlomo, the son of Sibusiso Dhlomo and the stepson of Ntombi Dhlomo.
On weekdays, his on-screen romance with Xolisa Xaluva’s Jason kept viewers glued to their screens.
Thami left Generations in 2016 after the entire cast was fired for demanding wage increases.
According to reports, Thami married actress Jo-anne Reyneke in 2008.
The couple has two children together. In 2018, the couple divorced.
Speaking on Fresh Breakfast nine months after their highly publicized divorce.
“Because he is a great guy it’s very easy to be a co-parent with him. He’s a wonderful guy, a great dad, a good friend to me; he still thinks I’m funny, just that as partners it wasn’t working anymore.”
She explained: “Whenever you get to feel in a relationship like ‘maybe I deserve more’ or ‘maybe I’m not what you deserve’ it’s time to part.”
An the moment/time she realised that she needed to go, she said on the radio show:
“Maybe half a year ago, because you wanna talk yourself out of and then you hear the relationship advice that every relationship goes through – it’s ups and downs so you’re like ‘maybe this is our down’ but then you’re like no dog, no dog, I can’t, I must want to come home after work… And then also, let’s be happy for our kids, our kids deserve happy parents.”
Joanne described their breakup process as mourning. “It was like a death in your life because you no longer have someone who’s checking up on you, who’s thinking for you more than they think for themselves. Now it’s just you by yourself thinking for these kids.”
Thami Is currently focused on his sports presenting, emceeing and directing career. Since leaving Generations he has kept a low profile.

A couple of months ago, Sunday World published an article that alleged that Zolisa Xaluva would be leaving the hit show. According to the article, the thespian and the show producers were not seeing ‘eye to eye.’
The news of Zolisa leaving came as a complete shock to fans because he has been killing the role of Melusi and he is one of the anchors of the successful show.
