Redefining what it means to be a strong woman

For Rorisang, womanhood is about embracing every part of yourself—both the qualities the world celebrates and the ones it often overlooks. She says her understanding of strength has changed significantly over the years.

“Being a woman means embracing every part of who you are—your strength, your softness, your resilience and your compassion.”

Growing up, Rorisang believed that strength meant always having the answers and never showing weakness. However, life has taught her that vulnerability is just as powerful.

“As I’ve grown older, I’ve realised true strength is found in vulnerability, in asking for help when you need it, and in choosing kindness even when life is difficult. It’s about walking confidently in the purpose God has for your life, supporting other women, and knowing that your worth isn’t defined by your appearance, career or relationship status,” she told BONA.

The women who shaped her journey

When reflecting on the women who have had the greatest influence on her life, Rorisang points to those closest to home. She credits the women in her family for teaching her resilience, humility and the importance of putting loved ones first.

“The women who have inspired me the most are the women in my family, especially those who carried so much responsibility with grace.”

She adds that she’s equally inspired by women who take charge of their own futures instead of waiting for opportunities to come to them. As someone balancing a career in entertainment while building her own business, Rorisang says she’s learned that success is built on more than natural ability.

“Success isn’t just about talent—it’s about consistency, discipline and believing in yourself even when the journey is uncertain.”

She also believes women should celebrate one another rather than compete. “Every woman has something valuable to offer, and there’s enough room for all of us to shine.”

Finding strength through life’s challenges

Like many women, Rorisang has faced moments of self-doubt, criticism and uncertainty throughout her personal and professional journey.

Rather than allowing those experiences to define her, she says they became growth opportunities.

“One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been learning to keep going even when life felt overwhelming.”

Looking back, she says those difficult seasons strengthened her faith and resilience.

“Those experiences taught me that strength isn’t about never falling—it’s about getting back up every single time. They pushed me to lean on my faith, believe in myself and understand that difficult seasons don’t last forever.”

Today, she’s grateful for every lesson along the way.

“Looking back now, I’m proud of the woman those challenges helped shape.”

Choosing self-care without guilt

The former Gqeberha actress admits that finding balance is still a work in progress. For years, she believed putting everyone else’s needs ahead of her own was the right thing to do. Now, she understands that caring for herself enables her to better care for those around her.

“I’ve realised you can’t pour from an empty cup. Taking care of myself allows me to show up better for the people I love.”

Her approach to self-care is rooted in faith, wellness, and protecting her peace.

“For me, self-care looks like spending time with God, going to the gym, taking moments to rest and protecting my peace. It’s not about being selfish—it’s about making sure I’m mentally, emotionally and physically healthy enough to give my best to others.”

A message to every young woman

Rorisang hopes young girls and women remember that their value isn’t determined by outside validation. She encourages them to embrace their individuality and trust their own journey.

“I want every young girl and woman to remember that she is enough exactly as she is.”

She also urges women not to compare themselves to others or wait until they feel completely ready before pursuing their dreams.

“Don’t let comparison make you forget how uniquely gifted you are. Your journey won’t look like anyone else’s, and that’s okay. Keep showing up, keep learning, keep believing in yourself, and don’t be afraid to start before you feel ready.

“Remember that your value comes from who you are, not from likes, followers, titles or other people’s opinions. Stay kind, stay courageous, and never stop believing that your dreams are possible,” said Rorisang.
