Ronaldo -Only God Knows Why

Orlando Pirates midfielder Ronaldo Maarman, who spent the season on loan at Cape Town All Stars, reckons only God knows why he never had a fair chance at Chippa United, where he first began his pro career.

The highly-rated 22-year-old didn’t get a chance to show off his silky skills and eye for goal at the Chilli Boys, and was sent out on loan where he scored five goals and created four assists at Igugu Lekapa in 2020/2021.

This sparked interest from Baroka and Sekhukhune United but he chose Pirates, who sent him back on loan to All Stars this past season.

“I don’t know why, God only knows why, I was actually signed by Chippa United first and I played the first season,” the Pirates winger told iDiski Times.

”I played in the MDC team but I wasn’t a first-team regular. I was in the team eight times and on the bench eight times, I got that experience but I never got a debut.

“I had to just take in all the experiences and learn from it. If it’s in God’s plan for me not to make that debut, I mean I could have maybe broken my leg, everything happens for a reason and I just had to just move past and move on.”
