Richards Bay FC have announced two signings from Marumo Gallants who suffered relegation from the DStv Premiership in the recently-ended season.
The Natal Rich Boyz have confirmed that they have landed the signatures of the midfielder Lucky Mohomi and the striker Letsie Koapeng.
Bay seem to be going all out to strengthen their squad for the 2023/24 campaign after struggling in the second round of their debut season in the top-flight.
RICHARDS BAY FC ANNOUNCE TWO SIGNINGS FROM MARUMO GALLANTS
“Richards Bay Football Club would like to announce the new signings for the upcoming season. Lucky Mohomi (midfielder) from Marumo Gallants and Letsie Koapeng (Striker) also from Marumo Gallants,” reads the statement from the club.
Mohomi and Koapeng are the first two signings for Richards Bay ahead of the opening of the PSL transfer window.
The former Free State Stars revived his career at the Limpopo-based club having endured a rocky road in the past few seasons. Mohomi’s stint at Mamelodi Sundowns was fruitless and he also struggled to make good during his loan spell at SuperSport United.
The 32-year-old had an impressive season both locally and in the CAF Confederation Cup. Thus, he was honoured with the club’s Midfielder of the Season award at the end of the campaign.
Meanwhile, the well-travelled Koapeng brought his name to life at Bahlabane Ba Ntwa having had an unsteady run in his career.
RANGA CHIVAVIRO TO JOIN THE DUO IN KZN?
Moreover, multiple reports suggest that the duo’s former teammate Ranga Chivaviro signed a pre-contract with Richards Bay months ago.
In spite of that, the rumours about the striker heading to Kaizer Chiefs and Young Africans of Tanzania haven’t stopped. Gallants talisman scored 17 goals in 30 games he played across all competitions for the Limpopo outfit.
