A video of a live rat reportedly scurrying inside a pack of Woolworths’s free rage frozen chicken is doing the rounds – and it’s utterly disgusting!

In a video that had TikTok and Twitter users gagging, a rodent can be seen inside the pack of frozen chicken in the store’s fridges.
According to the social media user, the incident allegedly occurred at the Woolworths Gardens Shopping Centre in Cape Town.

WHAT DOES WOOLWORTHS SAY?
After the video found its way onto Twitter, Woolworths replied with a statement.
The official account tweeted: “Please be advised that we are treating this with the urgency it deserves.”
“We have launched an in-depth investigation into the incident. Senior management has visited the site to assess the situation, and an independent auditor will verify your findings.

“In the immediate term, the store is undergoing a forensic deep clean.”
Woolworths added that they were “deeply committed” to high standards of hygiene and food safety.
