Polokwane Boss On Mabena, Kambala Signings

Polokwane City coach Lehlohonolo Seema says he is not going to put new signings Ndumiso Mabena and Manuel Kambala under any pressure.

Mabena had been clubless since leaving Orlando Pirates at the end of last season and joined Rise and Shine on a short-term deal last week.

The veteran striker alongside another new signing Manuel Kambala made their debuts as substitutes in City’s DStv Premiership goalless draw, against AmaZulu at the start of the week.

That result put City in 12th position on the log equal on seven points with Orlando Pirates above them and Stellenbosch FC and Cape Town City in 13th and 14th place respectively.

Seema said he is going to be patient with Mabena as his role is to help the Limpopo side do well.

“To help the team to win and help with his experience to guide the guys,” said Seema.

“I don’t want to put pressure on Mabena at all or Kambala. These guys were brought here just to come and help the team to win and the players can learn and pick up from their experience.

“They came they didn’t start the game. AmaZulu opted to start with their new signing [Taariq] Feilies and we did not we all have our own reasons.”

He continued: “Would you rather have a Mabena that’s starting with the game, because he hasn’t played for long and then he gets tired and then you bring in a youngster that’s playing for the first time in the Premier League?

“Do you think that he would have studied the game? No, you think that Mabena can study the game better and when he comes he can help

“And Kambala it was purely tactical I think Maphangule was superb today and I think he did very well and you can see that some of the guys are improving here and they are coming. And I think it’s a matter of time.

“It’s just that the games are coming thick and fast but we have to believe and have that belief that we can still make it. There were a lot of positives that came out but we will never put pressure on one player, he can’t.

“We have to support him we have to protect him but he’s a member of the team and he will help the club, it’s not a one-man show.”
